My big fun wedding
My big fun wedding
Save the date, this month we're going to the chapel and we're gonna get some really unusual wedding shots. Our newest assignment is about the special, the crazy, the funny, the odd and the amazing things that happen at weddings.
People take pictures at weddings to re-live that magic day forever after, with its goods and bads. So goodbye staged wedding portraits, 100-tiered wedding cakes, happy bridesgrooms with blushing brides, hello truly authentic shots that capture the energy, the joy, the anarchy, the laughter, the tears, the sweat and the cries that pour on such a day. For better or worse, the wedding day is often a mixture of bliss and bloopers so we want them all. Catch people's expressions unaware, focus on small details that make the atmosphere special, don't miss the toast blunder, capture the usual wedding mingling, the smiles and the frowns, the small talk, the broken high heel, the children's reaction to the cake, the bridemaids' gossip in the corner, the groom's wink, the anxious in-laws, the dog's annoyed expression.
Despite elaborate preparations, when you're photographing a wedding, you're actually documenting life as it happens. Things don't always go as we plan, sorry wedding planners! So we're not looking for spruced up group photos, we're looking for raw, funny, emotional, tense, impressive moments one gets to see at a wedding: the strange moves on the dance floor, the tripping in the veil, the wind-blown bouquet, the usual photobombers - sleepy kids, curious pets, over-enthusiastic guests, the wedding crashers, the clumsy cutting of the cake. We're looking for all the perfect and imperfect moments for an authentic, realistic picture of the glorious, yet sometimes stressful and emotional wedding day.
The most to love and to hold photos will be rewarded with $300 (first place), $200 (second place) and $100 (the third place) along with a branded t-shirt.
Let's do this, from this day forward!
