“Give Thanks, Give Back” Initiative, a Success!
The Dreamstime “Give Thanks, Give Back” initiative has come to a close, and it’s the community that deserves the biggest thanks! In total, you all contributed $3,235 that Dreamstime will match for an impressive total of $6,470.
As you know, the choice of charity was left up to you, and the decision is this – Doctors Without Borders / Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), the international medical humanitarian organization will receive $6,470. We knew you’d choose well, and MSF is a much deserving organization that provides medical aid and assistance globally to those in need. Through MSF, the money donated will touch all parts of the globe – just as our community does.
MSF’s mission is to ease suffering among people caught in crises such as armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition or natural disasters that strain local health systems. In 2009, its accomplishments included:
7.5 million outpatient consultations
Malaria treatment for 1.1 million people
Treatment for 200,000 malnourished children
Antiretroviral therapy for 165,000 people living with HIV / AIDS
7.9 million meningitis vaccinations
50,000 surgeries performed
The donations from all of you are incredible, but the community concern and support is even more so. The success of this initiative was in your hands, and you delivered with force! So thanks to all who participated by voting and donating. We love to see the community pull together in such a passionate way.
Voting may be closed, but we encourage you all to continue providing support to charitable causes that you are passionate about and we promise to do the same.
Thanks again, and Happy Holidays!
