10 things to do with your mother on this Mother's Day
May 12, 2017
It's that special day when we celebrate the woman who brought us into the world and we can make it even more special with small gestures that carry our love across.
Here are 10 simple yet sweet ideas for a Mother's Day to remember:
1. Take her to the beach
She might not have been to one in a while, or maybe she never takes time for herself. Find a more secluded spot and take her for a beach walk, prepare a couple sandwiches and spend a few hours together enjoying each other's company, the soft warm sand and the sound of the waves and seagulls.
We know, for kids, right?
We don't believe so. Scour the memory drawer for the best images and small trinkets that capture the beauty of your lives, buy a blank album and supplies and spend the day going down memory lane. It's sure to make you laugh but also bring tears of joy.
3. Hold her hand
It's quite a pointless advice if you come to think of it, yet so many of forget to make this simple gesture. Holding our mother's hand and tell her how much she really means to us.
That's one thing guaranteed to make everyone smile. Who doesn't love some home made, full of love cookies?
5. Get silly
A good laughter can take years of your soul. Make her laugh with some mindless fun.
6. Go for a walk in the park
Take in a bit of sunshine, listen to the chirping birds and look at the pretty flowers. Buy her an ice cream to end a perfect day.
7. Take a selfie
The most mundane of things to do, but I know my mother always has fun when I take my phone out for one.
8. Bring her flowers
Not exactly an activity but a beautiful, well chosen bouquet will make her smile and nothing is more rewarding than a mother's smile to her children.
9. Take her shopping
From our experience there are very few women out there who don't love a new garment, pair of shoes, or ... gasp...bag. So treat her to any of the above of her choosing.
10. Take her to a restaurant or cafe
It doesn't have to be eyewateringly expensive or fancy. Small, cute and private is the way to go. Buy her favorite dessert to go with the meal and if it costs you all your piggy bank so be it, it will make her happy.
Whatever you choose to do, we wish you a loving and caring Mother's Day that you will remember and cherish forever.
