Tips for RAZOR sharp images

Hi all,Recently I was doing some urban night photography and really got happy with the results. I can't believe there will be here some new findings for the veteran photographers among you but it's a nice reminder for all of us so I decided to share :)1. Gear - for starter a good tripod and tripod head is a must. I have a Manfrotto tripod and I use a good quality Chinese tripod ball head which does a great job.2.Know your lens - every lens has its sweet spot. Generally speaking your... continue reading

How was your ??

Hi,I guess all of you encountered this subject on the "day dreaming" sectionin the message board. Usually what you'll see over there are some happy contributors and some disappointed. A short story of my previous month's performance and this current can give you some perspective and hope.Last month I had 18 sales, it's a bit higher than my monthly average (indeed a number I hope to increase). The real problem was the average revenue. As all but 2 sales were subs my RPD was 0.58$. You must... continue reading

Using collages - is it useful??

Hi all,Now, as part of improving my photoshop skills I tried something new. Icollected more than 10 photos I took on the same night and merged them into one as a collage. I took these photos in New York (actually New Jersey as I was on the other side of the Hudson :)) during 4th of July. I could have upload the skyline photo as solo and maybe one or two fireworks images. Eventually I decided to make this collage. It took me some time as you have to be super precise and calculate the needed... continue reading

2 first times on the same night

Hi all,It is quite a while since my last Blog but this time I have a really good reason to have a new one. Last week the european soccer championship for squads under 21 had started. It is the first time (and proably also last) Israel will host such a turnament. We are not a part of Europe's soccer leading nations so this is probably a one-timer.Saying that it was really awesome to see a match between England and Italy (first time #1). The match was quite good and interesting as England had... continue reading

Why donating your images

Hi all,As I'm starting my fifth year here in DT I started getting automated messages from admins regarding old images. The message indicated that I have an image which is online for 4 years now and have no sales.DT suggests 3 actions you can take, re-keywording the image, donate it or disable it.I can truly say that I have some old images that today I wouldn't upload, or maybe change them a bit befire uploading. It mostly relevant for image processing (which my abilities have drastically... continue reading

Going ultra wide - my new toy

Hi,Like any other photography enthusiastic it was clear to me that my vacation in NY will include a trip to B&H (actually there were 3 of those trips :) ).Since the last lens I purchased was ~ 3 years ago I knew I won't be able to hold myself from buying a new one.For some times now I had my eyes on the Nikon 10.5mm F2.8 fisheye, but it was very expensive where I live.I found a perfect condition second handed lens in B&H which made the decision real easy for me.I know a lot... continue reading

Tenerife - put it on your list

Hi,It's been a long time since my last blog in here, actually even my photography taking had dropped lately and I found that the best opportunities for some quality shooting are during vacations. One of my latest was in Tenerife, Spain. Mixing between these two hobbies of mine (travelling and photography) had an outcome of these following images I'm about to show. So, first of all the island is quite small, taking the highway it will take you about 1 hour and so to cross it. Taking the scenic... continue reading

History in the making (and some sports shooting experience)

Hi all,The 24/8/2010 was one of the happiest days of my life. My beloved team - Hapoel Tel Aviv, was qualifying for the first time to the best soccer league in the world - The Champions League. After winning the champion ship last year at the 92nd minute with the most dramatic championship winning ever we, the supporters, started fantasizing seeing our team with the biggest clubs in Europe. After qualifying over RedBull Salzburg this dream came true.Even though it was very difficult,... continue reading
