An Unexpected Model

Very unique photo opportunities can present themselves at some of the most unexpected times. I was at the CAP 089th Squadron (Civil Air Patrol) to photograph their move into a new facility at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL. They were moving into a place that had a lot of stored equipment, desks, filing cabinets, and furniture all over that they would be moving. One of the Senior Members had her very young daughter with her that night visiting. She was a bundle of ENERGY! She saw me photographing the... continue reading

Merry Christmas - I'm ECSTATIC!

Some time back, I did a photo shoot for my mother and uploaded some of them here on DT. She wasn't crazy about one of the pictures, but I loved it. I told her she was a beautiful woman at 76, and someone would want to use her gorgeous face on something they were doing.Well, I just got notice that today two people downloaded the same picture of her! Christmas was going to be really slim this year. So I know my mother will be blessed to know she was able to give me this Christmas present. And, if... continue reading

Hang In There!

To all you newbies out there, or those of you wondering if you will ever reach your first payout, hang in there. I first started uploading to Dreamstime in September of 2007. So, you looked at my profile and said to yourself, "Hmmmm, she only has 90 uploads in over a year." You are absolutely correct. So, let me be the first to say that I am not the perfect model for doing it the right way. But I have learned a lot, and I continue to learn every day.Everyone that has been successful will tell... continue reading

I've Been Good!

Christmas time ... what a beautiful season! So many different perspectives for this holiday. For me, the number one reason for the season is Jesus. So, everyday of the year, not just Christmas, is a day to celebrate. It's also a time for get-togethers to enjoy the holiday spirit with family and friends we hold dear. It's sad that our lives are so busy these days that so many tend to push the most important part of our lives to the back burners just to be brought out... continue reading

Old Glory

Memorial Day just passed, Independence Day (4th of July) is just around the corner, and Veteran's day is just five months away. But, regardless of the celebrated holiday, love for our country should always be in our hearts. One of the symbols we use to show our patriotism and pride in our country is the United States flag. Some call her "Old Glory". I'm old enough to remember when there were parades down town streets, or the flag went passing by, people stood - they saluted - they took their hats... continue reading

Living Life to its Fullest

Every second of every day needs to be lived to its fullest. It is very humbling to look at this great big universe we live in and realize just how fragile life is. As a human race, we are so busy with the day-to-day "things" of just making it through another 24 hours. God gave us all our senses to enjoy this temporary place we call home. It is easier just to skim through life looking at the big things in the broad picture. We need to dig deeper to hear, see, feel, smell, and taste all those scrumptious... continue reading

A Walk With The Last Patrol

Twelve men are kneeling and huddled in a circle. The camouflage, green and tiger stripe uniforms; faces painted brown, green, and black; and weapons strategically strapped over shoulders makes you think you are in a war zone. These are all Vietnam veterans, but this is not Vietnam. They are called The Last Patrol, and are here on a mission. This group of Vietnam and Vietnam-era veterans performs a "Ceremony of Remembrance" all around the country. Their mission is to keep us from forgetting. They honor... continue reading
