Culturalstockphoto's focus for 2014 and '15

Good evening!Just want to share with you that for the near future (2014/2015) my photographic focus concerns the following topics: castles, cloisters/monasteries, ruins and ancient (often Romanesque) churches. Of course, my attention will not be strictly limited to these themes. Other subjects will meet my camera lens as well. I'll keep you posted about my actions 'in the field'! continue reading

Tower Bridge London

Good morning, I'd like to share my impression of Tower Bridge, London, with you.At first, I was impressed by it's giant size. The breadth of the road surface, the big rivets and steel beams, the overall length...you got to see it to understand! Of course, it is still one photographers opinion ;-) The construction looks robust, and it is nicely painted. Perhaps the river Thames itself also contributes to my opinion about Tower Bridge, its breadth is enormous. Anyway, if you are in London,... continue reading

Giant Oculus, Pantheon, Rome

Some call it the best preserved ancient Roman monument, the almost 2000 year old Pantheon in Rome.A building of breathtaking beauty and intelligent design. It has the largest unsupported concrete dome until today! It is very impressive to see the sunlight entering the building via the 7,8 meter wide 'Oculus' in the roof. Original build as temple for all gods by emperor Hadrian in 120 AD. continue reading

I also visited Italy recently. Tuscany (Florence, Pisa, Siena, Lucca) and Rome. These images are already online, except just a few still waiting to be reviewed. I expect to have 500 (approved)... continue reading

Province promotion

I'd like to promote my own beautiful province, Friesland (in the North of the Netherlands), here on dreamstime because it is a very nice area with a lot of historic buildings. This time: The 'kop-hals-romp' (head-neck-body) farm!* A "Head-Neck-Body farmhouse" (Dutch:kop-hals-rompboerderij) is a typical frisian farmhouse. It consists of a residence (the head), the kitchen (the neck) that have been placed in front of a big shed (Body). A striking fact is that the residence was... continue reading
