Photographing the California Coastline

Since moving to California seven years ago it has been my mission to visit as much of the coastline as possible.“Every weekend’s a vacation!”My love for the beach, the ocean, the birds and fish that live there, the flowers and plants that grow there, and the sun that rises and sets there, has enticed me to walk barefoot in the sand, splash in the waves, share my picnic with the birds, relax with the yellow and orange skies, and to stop and smell the roses. But to be able to capture it all... continue reading

Gotta love traveling!

Gotta love traveling!Visiting new places can be such an inspiration for your photography. No matter how often the hills of Tuscany or the St. Peter's Basilica have been photographed by other people, if it's new to you then it's your opportunity to capture them from your own perspective.I recently visited Rome and Tuscany, Italy and was in my glory with all the beauty and opportunity for my own photography interpretation. Sure I had seen a million photos of the small towns of Cinque Terra, but... continue reading

International Women's Day

It's International Women's Day and I'm proud to say that I have been fortunate enough to participate. As a woman, and one with a visual disability, I have proven success to myself and others. I hope I can be inspirational to others who might be struggling and unsure of their abilities, to push forward if it's what you truly want.As of today I have 1155 images for sale on Dreamstime and have sold 171 of them. Although that may not seem like grandiose numbers, when I began this pursuit, (and my greeting... continue reading

My Next Adventure

I'm so excited and feel so privileged to be able to travel in my retirement. One of my goals was to "see" as much of the world as possible while my eyes were still good enough to do so.My other goal was to share all my travels with others through my photography.  As of today, I am now able to share 1002 photos and even more lucky to have sold 111 of them, all "snapshots" of my life. Where else can you make money while doing what you love on vacation, other than here on dreamstime?... continue reading

SETTING GOALS AND ACHIEVING THEM

It's important, even in your older years, to set goals and to work to achieve them. It may seems frivolous, (not having any purpose or value) to say that you want to sell 100 photos in your first year at Dreamstime or that you want to have your photo chosen for an assignment this month, but really it's the substance of life; the idea of feeling important, valuable or significant.Even tiny goals add to your happiness. When I began selling photos on DT I was quite an amateur, but I really loved... continue reading
