No, we have not gone back in time to November here in the USA where we came out in record numbers to vote for a new president.its time to vote for the dreamstime contest winners! This month was a very interesting contest, as they were looking for images that made you say WOW! a look of surprise, of awe, shock, delight, or even an image that made you step back and say WOW yourself. There are some interesting images for sure, and I was delighted to have 5 of my images accepted into the contest... continue reading

Ahh Christmas eve and gifts are wrapped, cookies baked, and I am ready for the time to be over! no, not a grinch here, just so much getting ready and preparing I am finally ready for it to be done so normal life can begin again. With stock however, we can relive it all through our images of the holidays, so make sure your camera is ready and spend January uploading and keywording! For me, my best Christmas gift was to reach my year end goal here on dreamstime, of 3000 images. I actually made it to... continue reading
Everyone has a season they love the most, and normally I would say for me its Autumn.. however I have really had a beautiful summer with many adorable models, and the photo explosion has given me 5 entries into the Dreamstime assignment contest this month!Although I would love to be a winner in the contest, any image that gets chosen is already a winner as it gives you a level 5 image and gets you better placement. Does this really help? Well out of my last 20 sales, 10 of the sales were actually... continue reading
Just a few minutes ago, I reached my personal goal of 1000 SALES here on dreamstime. It was not that long ago I struggled to get 50 images accepted, and then like the proverbial watched pot, waited and watched and watched and waited for the sales to come in. I have learned a lot, and have 2800 images accepted currently.I attemptedto upload 10 a day, and stayed with that for a golden month before life got in the way in a major blast- I becamemother to three babies under 3 at the end of January.... continue reading
I really enjoyed the dreamstime assignment this month , titled 'real people'.I think unplanned, spur of the moment images are often the best, most magical part of photography. The power of observation is indeed, a super power we all have. But being able to capture that moment in real time is very much an art.Recently, photos by an unknown artist have started to gather critical acclaim. Vivian Maier's work was discovered at auction in the USA, and her street photography that documented people... continue reading
I am pleased to say I have reached a milestone of 2,611 images on dreamstime, and as many of us know, it is not easy! We may have the best of intentions, be the best photographer, work hard, chain ourselves to the computer, but so many of us also have family and other jobs and duties to attend to.So besides taking the photos in the first place, we then have to download, sort, run through lightroom, play in photo shop, edit some more, touch up, upload, check at 100% for focus, then keyword! PHEW!... continue reading
It is a holiday here in the USA, a day of reflection and family for many, where we give thanks for what we have. I will NOT be out in the stores buying 'things' or camping out in the rain and snow. I will be with grandkids and grown children and parents, thankful that my parents are still here to share a dinner, thankful that my children are grown and have a roof over their heads and a job to care for THEIR children, and thankful for my 8 grandchildren, a few who have already survived medical threats... continue reading
It's that spooky time of year when ghosts and witches show up at our door step, werewolves and zombies stagger down the street, and spider webs with occasional spiders grace even the cleanest of homes.Halloween can be fun, scary, spooky, exciting, and a great time to grab the camera and take tons of photos. Kids in pumpkin patches searching for the favorite pumpkin.. Hay rides and bonfires, piles of leaves to jump in and haunted houses and corn mazes crop up all over.Halloween is, however, more... continue reading
My significant other sent me a cartoon today, of a waiter stopping by a couples' table. Is everything OK madam? he asked.I noticed you have not photographed your food...I had to laugh because I am notorious for taking photos of food before anyone is allowed to eat, be it at our favorite restaurant or in our own kitchen. So when Gary came home with a basket of fresh peaches, my first thought was NOT wow what delicious food can I make with these? No, first thought was hmmm what pictures can I create... continue reading
It is blueberry season in Michigan USA, and this year the cool nights and lots of rain has produced a bumper crop of the sweetest, largest blueberries I have ever seen. Picking at a friends Blueberry farm last week was so much fun with my beautiful granddaughter, but we joked that she should have been weighed before she started picking and then later on after, as I think at least a pound went into her mouth before it ever made it into her basket!Michigan is such a wonderful spot for fresh produce,... continue reading
