A bug in the process... (finished...)

In my previous post I have mentioned an old house which we - me and my wife - have bought last year, hoping to renovate it into our dream home... Yes - plenty of work for already overloaded couple, but this kind of challenges are somehow extremely satisfying and even thou you lack sleep and your hands are aching from tools, you undertake next challenge just to feel like God, when you sip your well-deserved beer while looking at finished results of your own work...And another of such projects... continue reading

Over 3 years to get 50 images online

Three years is a loooong time. For those who do not know me I can explain...I am occasional contributor, who is trying to create some images in his spare time - but as a full-time employee, husband, pet owner, DIY home renovator, household cook, freelance DTP guy and occasional photographer... the spare time is something I haven't had a long time... And after we decided to buy and renovate (DIY) an old house outside the city (and with mortgage sitting on our shoulders) I can tell - there is not... continue reading

17 cents which drive me crazy...

Yesterday I had to cut my nails very short... as I am nervously biting them last days... The reason is simple - I am 17 cents short to pick my first payout on DT.The balance stopped moving two weeks ago and refuses to rise - and nothing helps - I already started to talk to that number - asking it to go up, commanding, begging, hypnotizing and using psi-forces to push it beyond payout limit... but with no success...It really can drive one crazy, when reward is within reach of hand and yet... continue reading

What to do, when frustration knocks on your door...

Hi guys, I decided to write this post to help myself (and maybe others) to get out of misery of frustration that strikes us - photographers from time to time...So... recently I haven't created any image (for a while already) - mostly because of no time (20 minutes per day is not enough for me), unfavorable conditions (temporarily lost the only space where I was able to set the lights...) and too noisy results of my travel photography from last months... Basically - lady Frustration knocked on... continue reading

How to tie perfect knot on syringe needle? - Secret revealed

This image - I had it on my mind for a longer time - a shoot of a syringe with perfect knot tied on the needle - kind of "Stop taking drugs" concept... - but there was tiny little obstacle to solve - how to tie a perfect knot on a piece of fragile stiff and yet still hollow medical needle? It was clear to me, that I will have to do some Photoshop instead of twisting the needle...But after that I came across some collage with 3D rendered metal pipes tied into knot and simply - it did not feel... continue reading

The most precious "piece of gear"

We usually have a spare battery, spare memory card, spare camera body, spare flash on hand - just in case something fails... But what if the failure hits our eyes? Unfortunately there is nothing like spare set of eyeballs... Hope this little experience of mine will help you avoid stupid mistakes...Last 10 years I was feeling, that my eyes don't see so sharp as before, so years ago I visited ophthalmologist to get glasses... but the strange thing - non of the correction lenses we tried that day... continue reading

Hello everybody, it is Easter Monday today and it is time to close and evaluate the "Best selling Easter Bunny 2012" game I announced on March 20th in Free Discussions section of Dreamstime forum.I was very pleased to see 15 contributors joining with total of 22 images and I admit, that your postings were most exciting thing happening in the game, as the score moved a little bit slow. Best Selling Easter Bunny 2012 - Game

All of us went through a stage when we daily check the statistics and with frustration or with joy we observe how our images are bought by people around the planet. Sometimes it is a kind of stereotype, that puts you down as nothing special happens, so couple of days ago I had an idea - why not to make it a bit more exciting? - to give it a faster spin and have fun at same time?So I came up with an idea of a competition (in sales increase), that will bring some thrill and maybe sell some images... continue reading
