200 OL

No, not Office Ladies, that would be way too greedy, I'd settle for one, so long as she was attractive. :)200 photos online. Boy am I slow! But I'm easily distracted, especially in the work place, I mean distracted by my work not by my colleagues. Anyway, slow and steady it is then, it's not making me a fortune, but the additional income is always welcome. Time to plug my photos, here are the last 5.....and here is a blog written many moons ago on my first one hundred. WON-... continue reading

404 but found

Ironic then, that for my 404th download, the image was able to be found with such a generic search term, "road". continue reading

The highest score with 3 darts is 180

I know this is a strange number to celebrate, but I have been sitting in my 170's for what seems like an eternity. I just got my 180th photo online on Dreamstime and my immediate reaction was to shout One Hundred and Eighty, in the same manner as a darts referee, anyone who knows the game knows that it is quite a shout. I've just been searching for a recording of it, but not been able to find one.Anyway, this is my 180th photo and it his has nothing to do with darts, although it does look like... continue reading

Thinking about Summer

Although the northern hemisphere has only recently entered into spring, it seems that buyers are already thinking about summer. I've just had these three summer pics of Bali downloaded.Made any plans for summer yet? continue reading

Empty Queue

This made me smile, I'm not sure if anyone else will find it amusing. Below is a photo which I was sure would do well, but actually didn't. A few minutes ago though, it was downloaded for the first time. Yay! It was found with the keywords 'empty queue'.Wouldn't it be great if all queues were empty? continue reading

World tennis comes to Bali

The impressively named Tournament of Champions is the last WTA tennis tournament of 2010. The event is being held indoors at the Bali International Convention Centre, which during the rainy season is a very wise move.Initially, I pondered whether I should attend or not. Over the summer I upgraded my camera, but still have no lenses other than the standard 18-55mm lens, which is surprisingly good for a kit lens. However, not the lens generally needed for an event like this. The camera has a... continue reading

Looking forward to my 3000th download..

..however, it's a very long way away. 300 is a more realistic expectation as I'm just one sale away. Made you look though hey ;-)Anyway, I'm quite content with the sales for my small port. Now if only I could get 300 online, phew!! Back to the grindstone..The images in this blog are sales 298 and 299 and I will post sale 300 here when I get it.UPDATE: So one day after posting this blog, I got my 300th sale, which was a 5 credit purchase. And it's the same image as the 299th download.... continue reading

Now I like Subs

Well I like them today anyway. I currently have 141 images online. Can you imagine my surprise in getting 8 sales in one day? All of them subscription sales and all of them images of Bali. I can assume it's the same buyer, but you never know. That puts me on 14 sales for the month and we're only half way through it.Anyway here are the 8 sales. Fine choice, even though I say so myself hehe. continue reading

I Love Photography, but I’m Mad About Football

The World Cup started today and I couldn’t resist a blog about another passion I have, and I hope you hear me out even though this passion of mine may be of no interest to you.I have always been fascinated by football or soccer as it is known in far off lands which prefer their own sports. The last time I was in the U.S. was more than 20 years ago, I was still a teenager. I distinctly remember being invited by my cousins, to join them and their friends who were playing football in the garden.... continue reading

Poetry for the Struggling Microstocker

If we submit images, inevitably we are going to get rejections. From these rejections we learn how to improve and our acceptance ratio over time, should start to increase. However, this process for many of us is a tough one, as there are numerous reasons for our images not to be accepted. For sure we often fail to understand or plainly disagree with why our images are rejected, but the reviewers review images day in, day out and generally know what they're doing, even though it doesn't always seem... continue reading
