I manage to be accepted as an exclusive contributor today, but what a frustrating business to get my account cancelled with the other microstock websites. However, hopefully I will be now in a better position to make more money.Best of luck to all the other DT folks pushing hard to make a few bucks.RegardsMossel. continue reading

Hi DT'sI landed up in the Highlands of Scotland in January in the worst winter in 30 years. It was really a climate shock coming from the hot South Africa. But the opportunities for snow photography was numerous. This old farmstead is just one example. I shot it on the way to Altnahara which is the coldest place in the UK. Temperatures of minus 23 was measured there!Best of luck with your shots. continue reading
I was able to get about 30 shots accepted the past 7 weeks but without any sales. It is a bit demoralizing after you have put it a lot of hard work. Although I love landscape and water scape photography I have decided not to proceed with it because it is so difficult to communicate a clear message with landscapes. If your shots do not communicate a clear message you can rather relax at home with a nice drink. The commercial value of pictures is determined by emotion, concepts and lifestyle. Hi DT's I hope you are all well and focused! Well I can report that the insurance company was so kind to replace my Canon D5 Mark II plus my Canon 16-35 mm f 2.8 lens. Thanks Lord! But I can also report that I have made it to get a model on the web! After turning digital in March I have loaded several shots of my lovely grand children but without any success. This morning I loaded 5 shots taken in a studio with proper lightning and it was accepted. I am very happy.RegardsMossel continue reading
I want to buy a graduated neutral density filter to use on my Canon 16-35 mm f 2.8 lens for landscape and water scape shots. The Lee and Singh Ray ND filters was recommended to me, but it is so expensive that I am wondering if it is really worth it. I shall appreciate any help from you guys who are using ND filters on wide angle lenses.RegardsMossel continue reading
Have you ever had the terrible experience of loosing 2 D5 Mark II's in 2 months time plus a Canon 16-35 mm f 2.8 lens? Well that happened to me this morning at the beach when my tripod dropped forward in the water. It feels like a dream but unfortunately it is true! Please hold thumbs for me that the insurance would not penalize me this time.Thank for your understanding DT'sMossel continue reading
Hi all you Dreamstimers.I suppose you are experiencing the same frustrations which I have at the moment: work like mad and do not get the acceptances you want. I am very fond of nature photography. Living on the beautiful coastline of Mossel Bay (South Africa) I cannot resist the temptation to shoot and to shoot because you have all the opportunities in the world to get the most awesome shots. That is what I have done since I got involved in micro stock, but the result is very disappointing when... continue reading
