a New Year and a new set of goals

In late 2015 I started working for a cultural Webzine as an event photographer, this took me to some very nice venues. From movie premiere red carpets to music festival and Cons. The deadline to provide images is so tight that I have for the last year been rarely uploading to DT. All my latest upload were test done on iPhone as it is almost instantaneous. My goal for 2017 is to get back into uploading at least 5 photos per week and that way I can with you what I have witnessed and was part of.... continue reading

New milestone

Today I have achieved one of the goal that I had set for myself when I first joined Dreamstime, some have told me that my expectation were too high that I was in competition with better more experienced photographer than I. To these folks today I say take a good look! because only by 4 months have I missed the goal set 3 years ago which was 500 sales, but I also achieved another milestone with my first $1k and to boot with an image that sold for the first time in 2 years being available. Here it is:... continue reading

3 year anniversary

3 years ago I started my journey into stock photography, with all the ups and downs this morning I can sit and be proud of what was accomplished in that time frame. so 3 years later I have over 800 images accepted and almost 450 sales, was aiming for 1000 images on-line and 500 sales, but it is close enough. I can now also add to my resume that I am a published photographer something that I would not have believed possible over 3 years ago. So my message to all that are starting in stock photography... continue reading

A few weeks ago I suggested a co-worker to join DT.We both share a passion for photography and we often talk about it during our lunch breaks, I explained how it was fun to have people purchase picture that I had taken and see them used as visualization and complementing news, text or documents. Today I was pleased to see that she got her first set of approved images. Please join me in welcoming user Kathmir to the DT family. Wishing her many years of great success. continue reading

I have the opportunity to live in a vast country that stretches from the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans and my work will on occasion have me travel from one side to the other.A fellow worker also an avid photographer knew that I was heading to the province of Alberta in the area of Calgary and assumed that I would be going to the Banff National Park amongst the Canadian rocky mountain range, having been there in the past I knew that the province had more to offer and therefore decided to look... continue reading

Second year anniversary

© Phoenixci (Help) Two years ago I started my journey into stock photography. I have made the mistake that most of us do, upload pictures that I liked and I had no understanding of what stock photography was just that I could make money.Well there is a possibility to make money with it but like in other things in life you do have to put energy into it. I remember my first upload where no images were accepted, and the second one, only 2 images out of 90 were accepted. My friend that introduced... continue reading

500th upload

Like an infant it me a little over 16 moths to walk amongst other photographers, I often state that I am not a pro and I do not consider myself to be at a professional level in my photography, I am still learning and I am happy to see my progression as I gain experience. So a simple message to the newcomers, don't worry try and try again in time you will learn and you too will be able to walk amongst the pro and sell your work. The 500thimage kind of represent what my last 16 months of stock... continue reading

setting goals

Who would have believed a few months ago that I, a photographer without any training, would have reached over 100 photos accepted. The start of the journey was hard and after many refusals I wondered, (as many others have I am sure) if this was for me. I decided to take every criticism and use it to learn. Well all of the hard work paid off and now I can take a look back and walk tall. Now that I have reach the 100 goal, it is time for me to set the next one. To reach 250 by year end, and should I... continue reading
