Written by Simina Cernat (member of Satwa Guna 2012 - Unknow Vietnam project)The idea of climbing Mont Blanc came in my mind last year, in Ladakh. I was on a pass over 5000 meters and I was thinking…now we are on a higher altitude than if we were on Mont Blanc. I was feeling very good up there and a big curiosity made me ask myself how I would feel if I were on Mont Blanc. So, I included a short climb in my plans for this summer. Mont Blanc was fetching so good because I still had to go to... continue reading
Written by Simina Cernat (member of Satwa Guna 2012 - Unknow Vietnam project)We entered Italy…a child near me whispered, with a sad voice: ciao Italy. I asked him if he lives in Italy and he answered no.Do you like Italy? No.I was looking on the endless highway and I was thinking…I didn’t like Italy too…I had his age when I came here to spend my holiday with my parents, exactly like him. My parents wanted me and my sister to move in Italy. We had all the papers prepared, the only thing... continue reading
Preparations almost finishedThe departure date approaches and we are in a hurry. We got out in time from the bohemian state in which we had lost ourselves to apply for the Vietnamese visa. We thought that we could apply online and in 2 days the visa would be ready. It is a possibility, but only if you apply for a single entry visa for 15 days.Because we wanted a 3 months multiple visa, we had to go to the Embassy with the papers and we had to wait 5 more working days after the pre-aproval letter... continue reading
5 August 2010The departure from Otopeni airport runs slightly classic, but funny. “We feel better Balkans”. Long tail for the flight to Moscow, just as long the tail for Romanian affected passengers (by the road, or by the bottle GG . On the plain a gang of children away on a trip - leaps my sleeping tone with a harsh and repeated “Wake Up”... till obsessions, funny... don't you think? :) Not for me. They had a colleague, who probably - afraid of flying -preferred to sleep, but as my... continue reading

Satwa Guna Project, Shimshali People stage, Pakistan 2010Times have changed, and today women in Pakistan are working in areas which were previously designed for men (army, police).Despite the progress made by women, society and government, females continues its efforts in exclusively male domains. Climbing is one of them. Lack of information in society about mountain sports (climbing), the fact that is an expensive sport, prejudices about women inability to climb, absence from home in a wilderness... continue reading
...that every night the power went of in the neighborhood was not terrifying for me because things would transform and I was looking, fascinated to all sorts of forms from the shadows lingering on the walls.I would open my eyes and my ears passing through a dark corridor imagining myself with my eyes in the developer tray of my old man. Images with people and moods, emotions and smooth foreheads were printed in negative on the walls, colored laughs emerged from the pitch black. Often I would trip... continue reading
...i've never reached those places with my soul, i just felt as a blind wanderer on lands which may have been once blessed with quietness and spiritual strength. Maybe back then, the people who didn't belong to that land came and told THEM that there may be something wealthier and then they killed their soul and settled off their spirit. They lied them as you lie the child about life, they tarnished the paintings of their monasteries and they washed the frescoes of their soul, beautifully mutilated... continue reading
Well, when I packed my bags and prepared my climbing gears, I was looking forward to climbing the Himalayas, or at least one peak...and not all due to time constraints and reasons. However, when I reached Tibet, after struggling for quite a while to get a five-days pass, I got kind of ill, because of food, cold and wet climate, an amount of factors contributed to my feeling too lousy to climb. I managed to climb as high as 5,000m and took some wonderful images. I walked around Lhasa, again taking... continue reading
