Sometimes it's NOT about the shot......

We have wanted to see a shuttle launch for years and this past week we had the chance.Packed a bag took all three cameras tripods lenses laptop.... Along cameour daughter and her 13 and 4 year old daughters drove 10 hours and finally... It was fantastic!!!!The girls are home schooled and have been studying Flight from the Wright Brothers through the space program. They both were thrilled.The photos were not the best. Missed Opportunity

Boy Did we blow it, Yesterday at around 4:00pm there was a train derailment less than ½ mile from our house.My first instinct was to grab the cameras and run to snap a few photos (though my dear hubby was a little more cautious).But we were almost instantly told to evacuate.So we jumped in the motor home and headed to the state park for the night.Today theyevacuateda few people a little closer to the site but we were allowed to come home. Travel

We did it we finally bought a motor home. It is an older one but is 33 feet long. Our plans are to start traveling the country, and of courseLOTS of photography. We are taking our computers and photo printers.We are starting this weekend with a short trip (5 days) to Ashville NC and the surrounding area.We plan on taking photographs early morning and late evening and going through them culling outthe unusable ones then editing and uploading while in the campground,. YEA!!! My first two editorials!!!

Went to Charleston with grandchild sick -needing surgery at MUSC. We took a little time to walk around the city (we have been there many times) and I took these two shots of the Cruise ship that had the norovirus and was returned to port for cleaning.now i need to know if the editorial can be submitted to "other"stock sites? continue reading

YEA! another approval!

Just had this one approved and in record time.I just submitted it yesterdayWe went to Charleston SC last week and had just started a 5 day trip when we spotted this boat. We had to drive through a few parking lot and to a little out of the way dock/ fishing pier to get to it. We asked permission to snap a few photos (we really had to ask since it was private property)and the lighting was just perfect. Solar Cooking

We just bought two solar ovens, and we love then.In one good really sunny day we can cook enough meals for our family of 10 for three days and them we make three gallons of tea as well.So now we only cook every third day if the weather is SUNNY.This got me to thinking about posting some photos of our ovens and meals cooking. What a Feeling!!!!!!!

Well I finally did it I have taken my earnings from stock out and am purchasing a new lense. i just kept letting it build and now i can buy a Cannon 28-135 with an image stabilizer. YEA!!! I bought one for my hubby for his birthday and we have been fighting over it. So now for my Birthday i will have my own.And just in time for a family wedding!!! continue reading

missed oportunity

There is nothing sweeter than a child exploring the natural world. and I forgot my camera!!Last week it rained several days in a row, it was very warm and my 2 year old granddaughter was driving her mom nuts being cooped up in the house.So we took her outside to play in the mud. she took her little child size garden shovel and dug for worms. then we found a great mud puddle and she splashed around for almost an hour.I had to convince her to come inside again by offering a warm bubble bath... continue reading
