First illustrations approved!

Hello everybody, hope you're feeling great - here in Sicily it's hot like hell!I'm writing this because, maybe inspired by the heat, a few days ago I downloaded inkscape and jotted down my two first illustrations ever! AndI'm happy to see they've been accepted :)I know they're really really simple illustrations (there's people around here that can do magic with illustrations) but nevertheless I feel encouraged to continue 'drawing'.Now I have to go. Black or white background?

I was wondering if photos with black backgrounds sell as much as white ones... Do buyers buy them? Do you shoot also isolated on black objects? I'd really like to hear your experiences on this.As for the images you see here: they are two attempts of mine to produce images with a black background. I happen to particularly like the one with he birthday cake, don't ask me why :). The other one was totally improvised and I think you can tell that! :). continue reading

Nice surprise today

I found two of my pics were Editors' Choice today :) What a nice surprise!Blue gate on beach was shot while at the beach. I had to apply many levels adjustments and some dodging and burning to make the sky look dramatic and at the same time have the gate not sink in total shade. Had I had a flash at that time I would have probably filled in the shadows easily.Neoclassical building interior was shot many years ago in Messina with my newly bought Nikon d70.
