Last week I got a 60mm macro lens for my Nikon d5200. I wrote on the message board and got some helpful comments so thank you for those. It took me a while to get used to how to get the best results and I am sure I have much to learn but I a quite pleased with my first results. So now I would like to document my journey with my lens... and get some tips.I am really amazed that the first two photos I uploaded (more as a trial) actually got accepted so I am very happy. These are just... continue reading

Hi everyone,As my main focus is on travel photography I thought it was a good idea to tell you a bit more about some of the places I photograph. So the first on I thought I would do is about "the Marais Poitevin" which is fairly local to me in Western France. It is nicknamed the "La Venise verte" which translates as "the green Venice". This is mainly due to the hundreds of canals and waterways that flow threw it. A main tourist feature along these canals are the flat-bottom boats.The... continue reading
Christmas in Berlin is a very magical time. I had always wanted to visit when they had the markets (around 60 throughout Berlin I believe) with their spiced wine, sausages and Gingerbread. This year I got my chance. Who could have thought that I could take so many photos in just 4 days. Granted many of them were of family members eating oversized wursts but I also have some for Dreamstime. So even though I still seem to be sorting through them and uploading I thought I would share some that have been... continue reading
Hello 2013 and good bye 2012. For me 2012 has been the most amazing year, maybe not for photography but in life. I went to the paralymics, graduated, got my driving licence and so much more and I just hope that 2013 will be just as amazing. So to say goodbye to 2012 I thought it would be good to post the last sale I had of 2012, which was this snowflake. What was your last one of 2012?HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!!!!!!! continue reading
It's July and so far I am pleased with the variety of photos I am able to upload.I spent June in the South of England: Dorset, Hampshire, Surrey and Kent. I really put my new camera to the test when I took photos of the White cliffs of Dover from the boat. Then I went across to Holland where the "Floriade" exhibition is taking place in Venlo. It only happens every 10 years and I really recommend it. It is split into 6 different sections each with a different theme.... continue reading
In my last blog I was asking people for their advice on a new camera. So a big thank you to everyone for your helpful comments. I finally decided to go for the Fuji finepix Hs20 exr. So far it has been brilliant. I love the manual zoom, which not many of the bridge cameras have and I think the quality is very good. I've only used some of the settings so far and I'm really excited to play around with it further. So these are the first uploads from this camera. So far so good. continue reading
Please help :)My trusty Olympus has been playing up recently. It's well used so it's done very well. But I'm now looking for a new camera and where better than to ask the other people of dreamstime !!!I do a lot of travel photography so I don't want anything too big I have been looking at bridge cameras. Also don't want to spend huge amounts of money!!!The most important thing (of course) is the quality of the photos.Any ideas? continue reading
Following my blog about travelling, I have been taking time out and going for day trips out to places of interest not far from where I live. So far I have managed to get photos uploaded from the Chateau de Villandry and Chinon which are both in the Loire region of France. The weather hasn't been great this summer butI have finally worked out the light metering on my camera YAY!!! So hopefully I can get some better pics. These are some of the shots, I hope you like them. continue reading
Hi, today I just wanted to share with you my favourite type of photography which is undoubtably travel photography. Whether it is because I am there on a day trip or a long distance holiday there always seems to be something new and exciting to discover. This can however pose a dilemma because the lighting in the french countryside and woodlands is completely different to the harsh sun of the Moroccan desert. You build up a unique and quite personal view of the place you have visited, often coming... continue reading
