Occasionally we all need to boost our creativity by doing something new or different. And we have all taken images that could do with that little bit extra to pick it up or transform it into something a bit more saleable. Why not try combining some of your images into composites. It’s easy, just requiring a few Photoshop selection skills, the use of Layers and a few other easily learning tools. There’s lots of instruction on the web that will teach you these skills if you don’t already... continue reading

I've never had views happen so fast before. On 24 June this image went live:What happened next quite amazed me, a day after over 30 views, then 50 by the next day, and now over 70 views. No sales yet but I'm hopeful. This far and away exceeds the view accumulation of any other image I have uploaded. Can anyone offer an explanation? continue reading
Dear DesignersYou are probably aware of the current issues regarding lowering cost of images, shrinking returns to photographers and the parlous state of the stock market at this time. Some are questioning that the current situation is sustainable. In a wider sense, this may or may not be correct, but dark clouds may be ahead. But please understand that Dreamstime is not one of the agencies oftenquoted as being at the heart of the problem. As far as I can see Dreamstime provides an... continue reading
Boy, have we had some rail this Autumn. So much that most of my time for the past month has been spent in the house doing, well, just house stuff. But last Saturday on the off-chance that we might, just might, get a little sun, spouse and I jumped on a train into Melbourne's Southbank precinct for a nice lunch and to see if we could take a few photos.Southbank is a delightful part of our delightful city, so even if the weather remained unkind at least we could have a nice stroll.But,... continue reading

This is my first blog post but hopefully not the last.I’ve decided to progress towards exclusivity with Dreamtime. This is after experimenting with several Microstock agencies for the past few months. Why, you might ask?I really don’t want to move into the factory produced type of images.I know that this type of image will sell more consistently. But for me it’s more than turning a dollar, quid, or whatever. My photographic interests are landscapes, architectural and travel photography.... continue reading
