I did an interesting exercise today.I went back and looked at the images in my rejected folder.I keep them, purely because I don't want to mistakenly try to resubmit them.Obviously I thought there was something about them that was worthy in the first place, so there is a chance I would try again with them. You know the feelings/thoughts you have when you first get the email that your image/(s) hasve been rejected?..."no, it can't be right, damn that is so unfair, I must have landed... continue reading

How do you manage your files for submission?I have created a folder called DT & then sub folders:PendingAccepted (I love this folder)Rejected (much fuller than I would like)Resubmit.Every time I submit an image I load it into the pending folder. Then after review, I either moves from pending into accepted, rejected or resubmit.I find this works well, so long as I am conscientious about it.It means I know where I am, at any point in time.It also means I am not submitted images... continue reading
One of my goals in a previous Blog was to try to move towards something conceptual in my photography.I had some success yesterday!!!I managed to combine 2 images taken over the last week in photoshop and I am very chuffed that the 2 files I submitted were accepted. Not only is this my first attempt at a concept, but it is the first time I have been successful in submitting photoshopped images. It's funny, the harder I tried to think of an original concept, the less inspiration I felt.These... continue reading

I am in my 7th week on DT now.I have been on and off a number of photography forums for a couple of years now & never have I learnt as much as I am learning on this site.My progress in terms of success is slow but definite.I now have 121 images approved and 5 sales.A few kind people even added me as a favourite photographer :).I am starting to take images with a view to stock, rather than trawling the thousands on my computer to find any which may be suitable. My ratio was about... continue reading
My first blog on Dreamstime.I have been here just over a month, 76 images approved, no sales yet, but I am more inspired each day by what is possible in the future.I am pleased to announced I received my first Editors Choice for this image yesterday. I wondered why my views on that image were over 400, when most of my images seem to average around 20-30 views. Now I know. What a pleasant surprise!I guess the image chosen was an appropriate one for me.I am on a jouney here. Most of... continue reading
