Well... the most straightforward answer to that question would be: "Having the camera with you all the time" :) Which obvious as it may sound is not always the most easy thing to do. If you're driving, throwing your gear bag on the back seat is easy. But what if you're hiking, biking or simply you're without any vehicle? Then carrying a bulky backpack full of lenses and gear is not quite funny. You can use your phone, right. Well... no. I am using my iPhone for doing... continue reading

This is the second part of my post regarding the fabulous cruise I had this September. You may find the first part HERE.The first stop was Palermo, the capital of Sicily, Italy. To me the city appeared crowded, dirty and not so much appealing. Here the tips learnt on the web prior to the cruise were helpful. Travelers to Palermo warned me to avoid the colorful tourist carriages from the port as they were overpriced. And they were right. 80 Euros, as I was asked for a ride across the city is a... continue reading
I am a Nikon DSLR user. And since I travel quite frequently I want a GPS device to geotag my photos. A GPS is handy not just for inserting the photo coordinates. But especially since dreamstime has a Geo-location link, when you submit the photo it will show it's shooting position on the map or satellite imagery, providing of course that the photo has GPS coordinates in the metadata. And it is extremely useful to know where exactly did you take a certain picture in order to submit an accurate description... continue reading
A year ago, precisely, I have decided to overcome my usual social reluctance and say Hello to the dreamstime community since I have reached the 1000 approved photos landmark. If you are curious you can find the post HERE.Now, one year later I have added four more thousand photos to my account, which is a great achievement for me. So I think it is a proper moment to say Hello again :)Of course I didn't believe one year ago that I could have so many approved photos in just one year. Two things... continue reading
Some time ago I upgraded to full frame. I traded my excellent Nikon D7000 for a brand new D610. I have also replaced the standard zoom Tamron 17-55 f/2.8 with its bigger brother 24-70 f/2.8 for full frame. All was OK, I was extremely satisfied with the move. But besides the increase in photo quality, the process created a significant increase in weight. Now, with all the lenses and accessories, my bag has a glorious 6 kg in weight. I have no real problem with that since I am convinced that if... continue reading
When I finished High School my parents made me a fabulous gift - an eight-day cruise on the Black Sea! I managed to pass the admission exam at the Faculty of Electronics in Bucharest and at the time it was the second most difficult College to be admitted after the University of Medicine. Much to my salvation I dropped it in the third year and switched to Journalism. :) But nevertheless, admission to Electronics was quite a monumental success and my parents decided to reward me with this equally monumental... continue reading
I have always loved castles and citadels. Who doesn’t, actually ☺. The older the castle, the more magical the tale. And it so happens that Romania has quite some very special ones. Those are the medieval fortified churches from Transylvania, built by the Germanic population named Saxons between centuries XIII and XVI. Many of those are UNESCO World Heritage monuments. Valea Viilor church And a lot of them too. 150 well preserved churches out of more than 300 villages registered with fortified... continue reading
Hi everyone. I have recently reached 1000 online photos. When it comes to online social platforms I am like an old man who is given a smartphone and who somehow understands that the device is doing a lot more but he simply uses it to answer calls ☺But 1000 photos is a landmark important enough (at least for me ☺) to overcome my online social disabilities and simply say: “Hi, I’m here!” This may be also my first blog post ever! Those 1000 photos were quite a journey for me. A very interesting... continue reading
