Kids Who Are Different

by Digby Wolfe

Here's to the kids who are different,

The kids who don't always get A's,

The kids who have ears twice the size of their peers,

And noses that go on for days...

Here's to the kids who are different,

The kids they call crazy or dumb,

The kids who don't fit, with the guts and the grit,

Who dance to a different drum...

Here's to the kids who are different,

The kids with the mischievous streak,

For when they have grown, as history's shown,

It's their difference that makes them unique.

yes, i think that's the only way to live a healthy life. allow the child to grow as Our Maker ( God, Allah or whatever name you use to call the Universal maker of Creatures) allows her or him to be.
The media have long been brainwashing people, children and grownups alike, to be homogenous, with their idea of what is cool, awesome hip, and all that empty mindedness stuff. we have had so many literally zombies in humanity that we have lost a lot of our unique personality
and culture in order to be popular with our friends.
i say let the circus end with all these homogenous clowns and puppets,
let's begin to cultivate unique people instead of clones of wannabees.
as i grow older, and wiser no doubt, i have stopped succumbing to peer pressure, choosing only to dance to the beat of my own drum,
and each time i meet a young child who has the wisdom and influence of a parent to teach them to be their own leader, i breath a sigh and shout out a loud hurrah to the child, for tomorrow we have a new leader who will lead us out of this pathetic maze of zombies , clowns and clones.
harsh words perharps, but let's get out of this mad party we have encapsulate ourselves and our children's children in.
time to vacate the premises, and let a new generation lead us back to where it matters most,... be yourself, be proud to be different.
