Computer Crashed!

I am unable to do anything with my pictures due to a virus our computer "caught"! My last approved picture was in December.

I am unable to retrieve the ones I have from the external hard drive they are on. Plus, my photography program is gone, so I need to reinstall it or get a new one. I don't have any idea when I will be completely up and running again, but I am happy to say my family is healthy (for now!) and I am blessed beyond what I deserve. It has been a very happy New Year despite all the frustrations of technology...we have a new foster baby in the house!

Happy New Year and many Blessings to All!

I could feel your pain and frustrations. It happened to me too, summer of last year. Perhaps I am luckier coz my files were all intact (no data lost) after giving it to a computer prof for repair. I hope it will live longer with a new motherboard. My daughter has been convincing me to get the new imac, but i couldnĀ“t part away with my old one...

Yes, we live in an imperfect world!)) Do not despair! There is always a way out. For instance, I keep copies of the files on my e-mail. So if Windows fails or the hard drive, I can rent a computer and work with my files from anywhere in the world where there is Internet access. A more useful to copy files to different hard drives for reliability.

Well I had this problems for years, everytime I fix the system it crashes again, we have to ask Bill Gates to pay for our losses. Well my friend switch to Mac, and you will have a hassle free systems. Mac is here to stay unlike windows. I'm not anti windows, but it sucks, I do a great deal of work in Windows, I have installed Windows in my Mac, so no problems whatsoever.

I blew out my monitor in December and that was my warning to get a whole new system. I still may mess this one up, too! Congrats on the new member of the family.

That is a major bummer. I am saving up to get a new computer because mine has a lot of things broken on it (speakers, headphone jack, wireless internet) and is running really slow. I've done everything I know of to try to improve the performance (such as clean the registry, defragment, etc) but the computer techs I know say that they think the motherboard is going out. So I hope my computer doesn't crash before I can get a new one! I can sympathize with you!

Sometimes I wonder what we ever did before we got computers. Ha!Ha! My 76-year-old mother had her hard drive crash a few weeks ago and had to send it off for repair. She is totally lost without it because she did a lot of writing. That's the way she stayed in touch with a lot of family, too.

When your business depends on the computer, that makes it even worse, so I feel for you. Hopefully you'll have everything squared away before long. Good luck!
