Does Christmas Come Too Early?

Don't get me wrong. I love Christmas as it truly is the most wonderful time of the year, celebrating with family and friends, taking a little break from the constant grind of work, and eating, eating, eating. But does Christmas come too early these days? Just yesterday I was driving to work and heard Christmas songs on the radio. Christmas decorations have been in stores for nearly a month now, and let's face it, Christmas trees and pumpkins just don't mix. What ever happened to Christmas holding off until at least Thanksgiving? I suppose with the economy as it is, everyone just wants to push it up even further to make an extra buck or two. So what you do you think Dreamstimers? Does Christmas Come Too Early? Sound off below!

Yes it comes way too early. If people would only remember the reason for Christmas.

Way to early. It is totally insane. When we were children we did not even think of Christmas until after Thanksgiving. When I see Christmas items in stores in Aug. I really start to wonder that it has nothing to do with the holiday season jusy money. It spoils the real meaning of Christmas.

Christmas items and decor started showing up, in abundance, in stores around me in MIDDLE OF AUGUST!! Can you believe that??!! I remember when I was a kid, Thanksgiving stuff came out right after halloween, and christmas stuff came out right after thanksgiving. I used to love Christmas, but I'm starting to feel a huge consumerism push into it that I'm not liking, ya know? When the holiday is dragged out too long, it tends to drag some of the fun and meaning out of it as well, in my opinion.

I personally am all about shopping on Black Friday but at least that's after the turkey has been devoured!

It's been this way for so long now that I have gotten used to seeing Christmas trees in the stores before Halloween.

It is never too early for Christmas. Think of it as a season not as a hloiday. I'll be glad to start it early and say to all....

In Canada we have Thanksgiving in early October, so it is a lot easier to keep to the 'Christmas after Thanksgiving' rule :) I'd just as soon leave Christmas shopping to December - except for DT sales of course! The spirit of Christmas, on the other hand, can last all year...

Here in the Philippines, christmas starts in September ;)

I noticed the same thing! It's been creeping earlier and earlier every year it seems, but this year is just insane! Maybe people just need something to feel good about.
