Dream Trip to the South Pacific

This last Spring we were able to take the trip of a lifetime to the Cook Islands in the South Pacific - and it was paid for entirely with photography money.

One Foot Island, Cook Islands

It wasn't all stock money (not even close), but it was sports teams, High School Seniors, Family Portraits and fine art sales. It took a year of savings, but with the goal of this trip in mind, it gave us the energy to keep going.

Girl on a Beach

The Cook Islands is a remarkable location, poised as Hawaii was 50 years ago. They are not kidding on that. The people were friendly, the food was fantastic (I even ate raw tuna - and I hate fish!) and the 4,741 photos that came back were worth every smile-for-the-camera/I-can-edit-that second.

Man in the Water

Now to get off the bum to save for the next destination!

Given that we travel worldwide with kids, we see the world through their eyes. While we adults are looking at the beauty of the Grand Canyon, the kids are starstruck by the chipmunk carrying a nut across the parking lot. Anything goes when you stop looking for the expected.

Thank you for all the kind words. Inydreams, yes I am blessed with a teaching position that allows me to use photography money for "fun stuff". The only problem with going on these trips is totally wanting to go back every waking moment!

I bet you don't need a polarizer or photo shop for all the natural blue skies and clear waters.
