As a follow up to one of my previous blogs “Desperately Seeking … Me”, a simple search on Google for Dreamstime and my name threw up a site unknown to me where I found a photograph of mine in use. This site also displays pictures of the city of Lausanne in Switzerland by other Dreamstime contributors, so check it out, you may well be featured there. The link to the site is: Vivisantangelo
The new year 2010 has started off very well for me on DT, with quite a few sales this month. A couple of TIFF format sales contributed hugely to what has turned out to be one of the best months in terms of revenue. I had missed the announcement about the TIFF format so seeing the first sale in this format was a huge but pleasant shock! So thank you very much to the whole DT team. I hope this month’s performance bodes well for the rest of the year.
Lately, friends of mine have been asking me for advice on photography and specifically have been interested in knowing how I managed to capture a particular photograph. Over the Christmas period, I finally started putting this kind of information together on a personal website. I’ll be the first to admit that the site is not particularly “sexy” or well-designed, and I’m sure there are a ton of ways to improve it. But as I have just started out and am struggling to find time to work on it. There is still a lot of work to be done and a lot of content to be created, but I would appreciate a little advice and direction so that my limited time is well-spent rather than wasted by flailing ineffectively around internet ether!
The site so far is a way to share the passion with friends at large, and to provide a little guidance and insight into the process I use to produce some my images (Featured Pictures section). I’m sure that it will appear very simplistic to most of the photographers here who have so much more expertise than me in the art of painting with light. But it is well-known, the best teachers are those who are better than oneself… so I humbly submit myself to your guidance.
