Freedom of being on your own.

Well my really enjoying my freedom of my own boss. Yesterday i attended the Dubai International Film Festival, morning I attended the press conference of Mr. Amitabh Bachhan, one of the most successful Indian Cinema Actor. First time ever I saw him and it was a great honor to meet this iconic film star of India. He is very famous in other parts of the world as well. The below images of Mr. Bachhan, which was shot yesterday and got approved this morning.

After that I attended the full celebrity RED CARPET event of DIFF, first time ever saw so many film stars and celebrities from around the world, I met many India Cinema Stars, Arabic Stars and some western stars. Yet to upload the red carpet event images, but stuck as i'm not aware of many stars name.

One rare thing I noticed as i was surrounded by many professional photographers from various media and of the lot 90 percent of the photographers were not aware of dreamstime site. I was really shocked to learn that many didnt know about microstock site. I took the opportunity to inform them about such sites, and how we can make money out of it. Well boy if someone registers I will lose the referral commission, but was satisfied that I was able to inform these photographers about Dreamstime and other microstock sites.

Another problem I faced, which I guess is very important for photographers who cover events. How do you guys remember whos who in the event. I didnt have time to write down the names of the celebrities. I know few Indian and Western artists but Arabic, I'm alien I dont know how to get names of these stars. What you guys do in such situation, I saw some photographers were writing down the names, and few were doing the voice recording in their camera. One photographer I saw was using Nikon D300 and he had voice recorder to record the names. I'm wondering if D90 as this option.Your inputs will be highly helpful.

Finally before wrap up, here some of my new images and will be away from DT for few weeks as I'm flying to India to be with my wife as she is expecting this week. In few weeks time I will be proud father. Insha Allah.

Cool Pix …
remember that your D90 has video capture option, so you could always switch to that and quickly record a note [which would then serve as your voice record] …
Otherwise just use your cell phone, as most handsets have a voice record function, if note that they also have video recording capabilities.
As a last ditched effort, you can remember to collect some documentation of the events that you attend, like a event program, as that would inevitability contain the information you later require … and yes the internet is always a steady supply of information for tagging after the event, as most web pages that relate to an event remain available long after the event has transpired.

Congratulations, Altaf! Hope we gonna see your newborn one day! :) With celebrities, you just need a simple voice recorder. Recording order helps you to remember. And doing homework before the event helps a lot too. If it's possible to get to know whom you could see on the event, you could check out their images on the Internet beforehand. Best wishes!

Congrat on all counts!!!

And, you'll have to find someone willing to tag along to write names down for you! :))

Hey, that's fantastic! I agree that it is nice being your own boss. I am not totally on my own yet, but with photography - I'm the boss.

Hello, Alltaf,

I have no experience photographing celebrities, but had the same problem photographing birds in a recent trip, I wouldnt be able to remeber their names aftewards.

What I did was to photograph the tags with the birds name using the lower resolution I have in my camera to not use much memory, those tags will help me remember the names.

The sound recording seems a very neat idea, though, unfortunately my camera cant record voice.

I wish the best luck with your new born baby, seems like we will be looking at several different "celebrity" pictures in the next months to come...
