Get your picture in or on a book :)

So I'm pretty sure many of you have heard of the now world famous/infamous book trilogy which starts out with the first novel called "50 shades of Grey". Well the cover shot for this world wide bestseller came from here, yes your very own DT, the photographer and DT even get a credit line in the book, how cool is that :) Here it is for sale on Amazon for anyone who has not seen/heard of this very raunchy book: cover. I think it's even being made into a film now to.

This got me thinking and today I searched Google using my username "BCritchley" and "Dreamstime". Well to my surprise I also found a book with a credit line using my user name and Dreamstime :) The book's called "Ancient Warfare Technology: From Javelins and Chariots" and it's for sale here on Amazon Ancient warfare, my image appears to be used on page 39 under a chapter on ancient China, so it will be this picture I'm sure

.

This book may not become a movie or a world wide hit but it sure does feel good to know something you shot has ended up being published :)

The one thing is for sure though, if your stuff is up for sale here on Dreamstime then it has a world wide audience and your pictures could end up anywhere, even on a bestselling novel :)

I knew already about a book showing one of my images on the cover. Now after reading this comment I made a new search and found another one, plus an image used on a magazine. Yes, it feels nice! :)

BTW - I searched for "photo credit" and then my name and Dreamstime. Nice when buyers give credit to the photographer!

Thanks Caly and Edward. Whilst writing the blog I researched that very thing, I thought p-el then read through the terms. Turns out RF is ok for books up to half a million copies, the P-EL ismore for resale of specific pictures like postcards.

Very cool! You inspired me to do a search and I found one of mine on a book cover - http://www.deanwesleysmith.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Think-New-Final-Cover.jpg

One question though - doesn't an image used on a book require a P-EL license?
