Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day

April 22, 2012 marks the 42nd Celebration of Earth Day.

Started as a grass roots demonstration,

Earth Day has grown into an international observance dedicated to the awareness of and activism for environmental concerns.

While a lot has been accomplished in the past 42 years,

there is still so much that still could be done to help in the maintenance and preservation of the overall health of this beautiful plant that we all share.

If everyone would take this one day to analyze their impact on the earth,

and chose one thing they could improve on -

simple things like supporting local and sustainable farming,

or larger endeavors like converting to renewable energy sources -

we could ensure the planet and it's resources will be around for generations to come.

Visit www.earthday.org/2012 for local activities as well as ideas for reducing your environmental impact.

And always -Think Global - Act Local

Thank you Concetta.

and Martin, I agree with your first response as well. Too bad we don't have a "Be Nice to People Day", but I guess that should really be everyday ;0

Sorry, Fabio is right and I was rude - great work Karen and I'm sometimes shocked how far back we are here in Australia when it comes to how we treat our environment - so yes, I will have my thoughts about it - (and my impact on people)

You are absolutely right Karen and fully share your thoughts, ecology is a very important subject, but much neglected, at least in Italy!

Beautiful image, congratulations!

I reckon we should rather say: "If everyone would take this one day to analyze their impact on OTHERS
and chose one thing they could improve on" - we would all be better off. Then as a side effect the environment would gain out of that too, because better people will treat their surroundings with more respect too :)
