Links are a huge component of SEO. Most people know that inbound links coming to your site are a great way to increase your traffic and SEO, but what people often overlook is the links on their site. Whether you are linking to other pages within your site (internal links) or pages on a different site (external links) it is important to build them semantically.

When creating links, it’s always important to use relevant link text rather than something generic like “check it out” or “read more.” Whether you are linking to an internal page or an external page, try to make your link text descriptive of the page it is linking to. Ideally, a link should contain text similar to what is found in the text of the page it’s linking to.
