How many pictures for the first 1k?

Hello,

I've just started to upload stock photos in this platform, this is one my first photos:

Warm fire

I was wondering what should be the frequency of uploads and in how much time could one make the first 1k?

Thank you,

Ciprian Salceanu

You don't take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it.

Ups, excuse me for my mistake, Mr Talimaen :)
You're absolutely right! Of course quantity of the uploads and the subject also matter but if they don't have THE QUALITY .... sorry .. :)

You woke up very inspired Dessie :P
The quality only! What about the quantity of the uploads and the subject...
What about the human factor that rarely happens but it happens? :P

Don't listen to Maen! It's all about the quality of your photos!

Buyers rarely buy an image outright, and even the extended licenses are pretty rare for a small portfolio. To print a bunch of postcards or calendars you only need the P-EL license for up to 10,000 copies. You can get that for 50 credits, or about $50. If the image is for sale at $350 you would need to plan on printing more than 50-70,000 copies to make it worth it. So yes, it is a bit of a fantasy :) Especially with only 8 photos on-line!

I'm puzzled why if buyers purchase an image outright, say for a card or postcard or calendar,[ at $350 say ] that money doesn't roll in much quicker than a few cents for each download. Am I fantasizing ? David.

Nobody seems to answer this seemingly simple question !

it depends on what you shoot and how diverse your portfolio is

I'd plan on 50-100 a month if you want to hit $1000 in your first year... No guarantees, though!

That's between you and the editors who review your uploads!
Cheers :)
