I don't understand....

Before leaving for my holiday in Norway, I bought a Canon EOS 400D and I thought all the photos that I upload on DT.

I did 875 pictures, but when I started to upload them, someone has been refused with this cause: "We have reviewed your file and this is not quite what we're looking for".

But the "idea" of the photo is not personal?

I'd love to have some suggestions to improve my photos and increase my upload. Thank you.

Here are two of my latest shots:

I totally agree with you... i had a new line of abstract photos which was refused here at DT, i know they ware good images too!!!
but as mentioned here below, the variety is too large and although the image might be very good, it can be easily rejected... too bad,,, since it's a matter of personal preference as well... SOOOO frustrating !!!!

Remember that DT has over four million images. They have seen every type of picture a hundred different ways. It is sometimes difficult to exceed the existing photos' quality and composition. Sometimes I think they use ambiguous refusal reasons just to say no. Just move on to the next idea and keep trying. Don't dwell on a refusal too long.

I got the same reply today. I think that this illustration (of wizard) wasn't worse than my other ones, so I think I was rejected because there's many other illustrations with this subject.

Your portfolio is full of beautiful and inspirational images of nature, so just keep doing what you do great and don't forget to be creative! I wish you good luck with your next photos.

Yes, with a 400D you should be aiming to make full use of the 10MP sensor.

I agree - that refusal tagline is the most confusing of all. I get it quite a bit too... unfortunately. One of these days my approval percentage will get above 40%! :) But I keep trying and look forward to the day when I will be sure that a photo submitted to Dreamstime will actually be accepted. For me at least I have not quite figured it out.

There are several reasons for this rejection, here are just a few;

1-To many similar images already exist..... an example is images of flowers, there are already thousands of very similar images of flowers on this site and if you submit another similar image it won't be considered, that is unless your image is of lets say 21 megapixel and all the existing images are only 6 megapixels. The website is looking to improve the quality of images.

2-Even if your images are not of a personal nature there are some criteria that must be met... such as, the image must be stock oriented. In other words it must be useful for somebody somewhere to use on some sort of design, ad, poster, website, book, magazine, etc.

3-I have read on this site that most of the time "we have reviewed your file and this is not quite what we're looking for" just means your image, in the eyes of the reviewer is just bad, don't be discouraged I often get this rejection as well.

I browsed your portfolio and so far I love what I see, good luck!

I also noticed that your images are mostly 3.9 or 5.3 megapixels, you should try to shoot at higher megapixel count and submitt no less than 8megapixel, this increases your chances per reason no.1 above.

I have received same replaies for rejected images even I witnessed similar ones online on DT. But this will make us more precise I guess in order to select more attractive images for the next uploads. Good luck!!!
