i shoot people for fun and money..
That's the official name of my own private blog side here in the city of my tentative business . I started using this title "I shoot people for fun and money" as my logo and motto for my business cards ,etc..
How I decided to use this title? I was about to have my own blog with the local newpaper for a weekly thread on their website which feature some photos as well as a write up each week. I decided on this name because everytime someone asks about my photography business,
they ask me, "what do you shoot?" I say, "people!"
and they continued, "for what?" so out of cynicism, I candidly respond, "for fun and money!".
So, here am I, shooting more people for fun ... and really, for money.
We all need to make some money , or else what would be the point of having a business. Right?
This week presents a new phase for me as a stock contributor to Dreamstime , in that I now have a portfolio with other people as my model(s). Before this, the only people you see are myself role playing all sorts of male characters, in different situations and different age group.
It is quite enjoyable, actually. It's usually more hard work having to pose someone else as they are not mind readers and don't know what you want them to portray or how to present themselves in front of the camera.
However, when you find a model who is capable of understanding your needs and a "mind-reader", that makes the whole shoot such a pleasure. Instead of worrying what to do, we roll on and on and hear nothing but the shutter clicking and my motor drive buzzing along
with my uttering , "nice ... wonderful... sweet... keep going,.. give me more !!"
It is like ESP, as my best friend used to tell me about good relationship or rapport. Such is also applicable to working with a good model.
Today, I am happy and ecstatic to announce I have found one such model here in my new work city. And I celebrate this with building her an awesome portfolio from within my own stock portfolio collection.
Thank you to the reviewers for the approval and the continuous
encouragement. It is my delight to keep working as a contributor to Dreamstime. I look forward to seeing my earnings keep escalating
skywards. (fingers crossed, knock on wood !!!)
Hats off to my new models for giving me a new look literally to my stock portfolio. May we all have longevity and success in our own vision and aspiration.
Thank you Dreamstime contributors for reading my blog.
Best to you all this Thanksgiving Day weekend..
Happy Thanksgiving ... everywhere, everyone !!!
