Illustrated poem

Hello all!

Here is a poem from the French writer Boris Vian, that I really like and I had the pleasure to translate here and illustrate with Dreamstime pictures.

It's about the simple and beautiful things life offers us to see.

I hope you like it too, and it gives you happiness and inspiration in your everyday life and shots!

Why I Live

Why is that I live

Why is that I live

For the yellow leg

Of a blond woman

Leaning on the wall

Under the full sun

The rounded sail of

A pointed in port

The shadow of blinds

The ice-cold coffee

We drink in a tube

For touching the sand

See water's bottom

That becomes so blue

That becomes so low

© Abv

Along with the fish

The peaceful fish

Grazing the bottom

Flying all above

of the seaweed hair

© Mheld

Like some slow birdies

Like some blue birdies

Why is that I live

Because it's pretty

(I took some liberties in my translation to respect the rhythm of the poem, as I believe it was also part of its beauty.

Happy New Year to all of you! I wish you to see beautiful things all around you, for your delight and the one of all Dreamstimers!

Wonderful idea. It is incredible the amount of photos we have on the site. One can find a picture to match every metaphor. I enjoyed reading your blog. And don't worry if the translation is not perfect. It is very hard to translate poetry.
