Increased approval rating

January has arrived and with that I have started to upload my latest bird photgraphs taken during my recent vacation to the Wilderness area in South Africa as well as the Langebaan lagoon on the South African West Coast. Since joining in September, the learning curve to get images approved has been very steep and frustrating at times. I am happy to say that coming from a low of 58% in November 09 I am now submitting at a 94% acceptance rate. So what has changed. Firstly I am now only photographing in RAW format, which allows me to get the image 100% correct in post processing. Secondly in photographing the feathered friends I am placing myself in the best lighting position possible with the main goal to get a clear eye of the bird. Thirdly, I have been taking the comments given to my rejected images to heart and trying not to make the same mistakes again. I am now very critical of my own images.

I am on the bottom rung of the learning curve and really enjoying it.
