Little Collection Experiment part 2!
Not so long ago I started my little collection experiment. I've had a lot of reactions so thank you all for the pictures and suggestions!
I thought to give you all a little up-date on this experiment.
At the moment 3 out of 4 collections have enough contributors to go public.
A very specific collection that still doesn't have enough contributors to go public. I guess the more specific a collection is the harder it is to find contributors. But we will see what happens. Meantime, if you have a picture for this collection, let me know!
My feeling on these collections is that this is a popular subject to photograph and finding fellow contributors is not very difficult. But I believe the trick will be to create a variety in a collection. That potential buyers have different sorts / styles of pictures to choose from in a collection.
So adding different pictures is still a goal.
I have to say that animals are a very popular subject to photograph. Since my goal was animals in general, I got a lot of offers from contributors. What I wanted to do with this collection is to get a bit of everything gathered in 1 collection. From arctic animals to reptiles, from African wildlife to marine life.
Since this is a experiment, I wanted a mix everything. Pictures with a lot of downloads and pictures that have no downloads. Adding Contributors that have a lot of sales and hopefully helping those who are still starting.
I still would like to add some domestic animals and some farm animals to complete this collection. Let me know if you have some pictures you want to add.
At this point, I'm not seeing how collections are beneficial to a contributor but hey, it's a big DT-site so we will see what happens.
If there are any buyers out there reading this blog. Let me know what you think! Do you love to have a lot of everything or would you prefer a collection to be all on the same subject. Do you find collections useful? Or is this something you just don't get? I would love to have your input!
