New inspiration - kids!

I've been a little bit absent lately on DT due to the birth of a baby girl! She joins her two brothers and many cousins as another member of the family. It is truly amazing to immerse yourself in the few first weeks of their lives and see the daily changes. She already is looking around, and starting to look AT us and learning all of the other things that will some day be second nature... She is probably already wondering what that flashing is whenever Dad comes around :)

I did take a little time out the other day to work on a couple of concept images that are a little different than my 'normal' shots - let me know what you think:

Congratulations Brad! And yes, as much as we love photography, our children take precedence. My baby girl is nearly attempting to walk. It's wonderful. By the way, we use cloth, too; except when we go somewhere.
The broccoli head is great.

Lovely baby Brad, congratulations and have many years of enjoyment both with taking memories through your camera and times spent together.

Hi, very cute angel, hope she stays healthy wealthy :)
But actually I wonder what head you will use next! You've turned it in your profile & now broccoli!... hmm don't let me guess :P

Cheers :)

Thanks for the comments! Marilyn - the cloth diapers are much easier than one would think. They are only really a pain when travelling or at the beach or something. There are some biodegradable diapers you can get - I think the benefits depend on where you live. If you live somewhere that water is scarce and land plentiful I think 'plastic' diapers are better, otherwise I think cloth tips the scale even with the extra washing. Even if you don't consider the environment, they are certainly cheaper in the long run!

On the camera attached to the head - I think it is funny: since I have a DSLR I look through the viewfinder. My kids all hold pocket digitals up to their eye when they try to take photos rather than using the screen :)

Looks like you have a wonderfully photogenic baby girl…do you think she will believe that all dads have a camera permanently attached? The broccoli headed executive look is very interesting, almost a bit scary, although I can think of a few people in the business world with all the thinking power of broccoli. :) The cloth diapers are a nice touch -- a much better alternative to landfills overflowing with non-biodegradable plastic diapers. Well done!
