All across the world in many countries the time between Christmas and the first week of the New Year is traditionally a time of celebration and reflection. It’s a time of hope, family and travel. I’m taking the week off for the same reasons. I have a blog ready in the continuation of the Top Travel Spots subject that will post next week. For now though, I have decided to pick a series of images that illustrate a peaceful winter scene as the message Peace on Earth and Goodwill to All is on many minds as we look forward to a new year in which we hope for less war, violence and death.

The concept ‘peaceful’ takes me back to my childhood in Colorado walking in the snow just after a big storm has cleared. I remember the silence, the beauty of the snow on the trees and the mountains, pure white against a deep blue sky.
