The lake is home to more than 150 species of different birds. In addition to resident birds, December to February is the time to see a variety of migratory birds. Different types of ducks, geese, pelicans, egrets, herons, hens, and other birds can be seen at the lake.

When groups of common coots and of spot-billed ducks move over the lake, impressive wave patterns are formed over the water surface. And when they swing their wings while in the water, showers of water droplets are a great delight to watch.
