Situated between Bucegi Mountains and King's Stone Mountains, the Rucar-Bran Passage is one of the most spectacular natural views in Romania. This passage links the counties of Brasov and Arges from Brasov city to Campulung Muscel city.
Along this passage you can find many tourist objectives like: Bran Castle, Rasnov Fortress, Dambovicioara Gorges and Cave, Dambovita Gorges and some
Bran Castle, situated near Bran and in the immediate vicinity of Braşov, is a national monument and landmark in Romania. The castle is a museum open to tourists, displaying art and furniture collected by Queen Marie. At the bottom of the hill is a small open air museum park exhibiting traditional Romanian peasant structures from across the country.Rasnov Fortress was built about 800 years ago on a rocky hilltop, elevated at about 150m above in the small town of Rasnov. It is located 15 km southwest of Brasov and also about 15 km from Bran Castle. The fortress is on the Bran Pass, a trade route connecting Wallachia with Transylvania. It is one of the biggest rural fortresses in the country and somehow unique in that it was meant to be a place of refuge for the commoners from sieges over extended periods of time. As such it had at least 30 houses, a school, a chapel, and other buildings more commonly associated with a village.
