The city of San Francisco is celebrating it's first NLCS Pennant since 2002, and hoping to bring the city it's first World Series championship. The series against the Phillie's is sure to be remembered as one of the all-time playoff pitching duels between teams. Classic Match-ups feature Roy Halladay vs. Tim Lincecum, Cole Hamels vs. Matt Cain, Johnathan Sanchez vs. Roy Oswalt, and battle of the closers Brad Lidge vs. Brain Wilson ('the beard'). Last minute waiver claim Cody Ross was the series MVP, earning himself a spot in Giants lore with past Giants playoff legends like Kenny Lofton and Bobby Thomson. The Giants get home field advantage thanks to the National league winning at this years all-star game, and will welcome the Texas Rangers to town Wednesday for the start of the World Series.
