A family holiday is not a photography trip, so the sensible thing to do is probably to leave your photo dreams at home with your other valuables, and pack your “great shot blinkers” to avoid feeling irked whilst you’re away. But this year our family trip was to Argentina, and included a train journey in the Andes and four days at the Iguazu Falls. This made it more of a struggle than usual for me to resolve to be a co-operative family member and not regard each day as potential camera fodder.... continue reading

Hello Dreamstimers! It's me again, long time no see. This time, I would like to share with you my new equipment. A 18-50 mm f/2.8 Sigma lens that is just outstanding in every possible way considering the low cost. I even purchased mine used for about 220$!The main reason why I decided to buy this lens was because of my new and growing interest in event photography, more specifically nightclub photography. Now, there are a lot better lenses out there for this purpose but the 18-50mm Sigma... continue reading

Hi there again,if you read blogs on Dreamstime, as I always do, you will remember about the fact that once I asked thoughts about what to be careful to take photos of when I go in Florence and Pisa.Well, today have been accepted all my images I uploaded from Pisa. That was amazing for me: 18 out of 18 :))It was a good time there. I could have taken maybe more and better images. The light was good for an hour and after that it was cloudy. So like an advice for you when you are in a special... continue reading
I purchased the new Nikkor 18-300 mm (f/3.5-5.6) lens today and ran it through a bunch of test in various condition and the results are in… this is a great lens for $1,000 (US)! It maintains excellent sharpness even with shots done fully extended at 300mm, there is practically no darkening around the corner/edges, very low noise, and sharpness on close subjects is spectacular. Drawbacks… slight chromatic aberration on high contrast edges that are near the sides of the photo when shooting with... continue reading
Well, after years of using my 18-55 mm kit lens for my Canon 400D I have decided I need something new (upgrade)and with a trip to Kyoto next week I think there is an opportunity for a new lens and some new photos on DT.My question is: Is a Canon 18-135 mm lens a good general purpose lens?My main purpose is for family and traveling.Any comments and suggestions welcome.(If you can recommend somewhere in Kyoto/Osaka to get one , even better) continue reading
What an amazing month it's been for me!This month marked my 20th wedding anniversary.Coincidentally, the family also went for what happened to be my eldest daughter’s first intercontinental trip—we went to the Philippines, Hongkong and Macau, China.(We wrapped up the month by taking our eldest to college—also very exciting… for her, that is.Definitely not for me :(( but it’s fine). But my excitement didn’t stop there, I recall opening my DT account one morning while we were... continue reading
I present you the new images uploaded in the last days on Dreamstime.Yes, I admit it: I'm starting to discover the programs for creating vector images. Does anyone want to sell their 18-55 IS lens? This is the new image stabilized one I am referring to; the one that is coming packaged as the kit lens with the all new Rebel Xsi (450D)ORIf anyone will be buying the Xsi soon, maybe we can work out a deal if you don't plan on keeping the kit lens.I am pretty sure it costs about $100 extra.I am located in the northeast US.email@example.com continue reading
Do you remember when you first joined DT and you waited patiently for that first sale? I do! and I also remember the feeling of elation it brought with it. What I want to do is look at a portfolio with no sales, buy what i think is the best image in that portfolio and show it on a blog with 2 others from the same portfolio that I think should be worth a sale or two.The point of this series of blogs is to get the ball rolling for some of our newbies. So here is the 18th image I've bought from... continue reading
