100 Photos uploaded

I know it's a small achievement compared to a lot of others but for a relative beginner, it's another milestone reached and I'm pleased to have got there. It doesn't match the satisfaction of having the first photo accepted but is a lot better than the first photo rejected and it's probably a little below making the first sale but that's something for the future.Six months ago, when I submitted the first photos, I didn't really think about making it to 100 or... continue reading

NOTHING TO CELEBRATE ?REALLY?

Hello everyone, its my first blog so excuse me if i ramble. Its Saturday morning here, and i am reading some great blogs about sales and number of uploads, and i start to think i am out of my depth. You see i am only on 45 uploads, no sales and keep letting myself down with silly mistakes on refused files (although i am more brutal with my own selections now). And then i just take a look at my profile, and i smile. Thats mine i created that, WOW. They may not be the best but i see how far... continue reading

Acceptance percentage

I have just got my acceptance percentage up to 80% from a low of 57% the first month or two of uploading to Dreamstime. So for anyone new my tip would be check your images carefully for blemishes and noise as a starting point and be a little selective. Now if I have any doubts about the quality I don't upload it. I'll add a couple of images from my latest uploads. Happy snapping :)   continue reading

Upload What?

As someone who is just taking my first tentative steps into the world of stock images,‭ ‬I am of course wondering what sort of images are most likely to be accepted.‭‬I would‭ ‬prefer to not waste my time on images that‭ ‬have no chance of being accepted due to the choice of subject.‭‬What sort of images do appeal to microstock sites like dreamstime.com‭?I started out by looking at the FAQ section of the site,‭ ‬but didn‭’‬t find the explanation offered there... continue reading

Time to celebrate, again!

A bit slow right now but thanks to phenomenal sales recently I have now past 1500 sales! Thats worth celebrating! :-) Also, just a few days ago I past the 2500 uploads mark. A milestone i believed where very far away when i joined DT. Also, yesterday i launched my tenth managed Collection – Functionalism In Architecture. 500 Uploads

This week I reached a total of 500 uploads. I am extremely proud of that. As an amateur photographer it is very rewarding to meet the high quality criteria of a professional organization like Dreamstime. It is rewarding to get your pictures accepted and even more rewarding to sell them.By reading and practicing a lot, by participating in the Dreamstime community, and by trying to match my own ambitions and the preferences of the buyers, I have learned a lot. In the first year my acceptance rate... continue reading
