Shots That Take Off. Shooting Air Travel

In the next two months I'll be traveling across the US more than once, going to Alaska and to several destinations in Europe.Travel destination images are plentiful but what about images of travel itself? If you have money to burn and can show that you are a professional with liability insurance, you are free to make arrangements to bring models and crew into the Seattle airport, for example. Also bring $500 for a location fee.... continue reading

Aviation and tourism

The aviation industry supports about 63 million jobs around the world.Around 10 million people work directly in the industry itself. These jobs are in the following areas: airport operators, airlines (cabin crews, managers, ground services, check-in, training, maintenance staff), engineers and designers, air traffic controllers. Indirect jobs in aviation, such as: fuel suppliers, construction companies, catering, shops at the airport, restaurants and other business services... continue reading

3d animations with blender3d compositing tools

I'm not using blender3d just for 3d modeling and rendering my objects.Sometimes I create 3d animations with particle effects, or create some turntable 3d animations of my 3d models. Blender3d is awesome software for modeling, but there are also awesome tools for video compositing. So for example I can create motion blur and dof effects and enhance my videos with rgb curves or by mixing different nodes. Photographing at an airshow

Last summer, an airshow took place in my town. So I decided to try this new photographic sector (for me). Few months ago I bought a Sigma 70-300 apo lens. It is a relative cheap lens which entered in my budget but I'm very satisfied with it and at the airshow it worked fine too. I've four images of this event on DT, all with editorial license because sponsors or other banners are on the airplanes. Not much to say about the technique. No tripod, because the exposures were very fast to stop the movement.... continue reading

This past weekend I had an unusual experience while returning home from the 2010 Red Bull air Races in Windsor Canada.I had decided that this year I was going to cross the border to the Canada side to shoot the Red Bull Air Races so I could have the Detroit skyline in the background.I made the right choice that day by shooting from Canada. It was a great day for shooting, and I got a lot of shots that I was happy with. After the Races ended I headed back home across the border,... continue reading
