Readers of my previous blog on airshow photography will know that I enjoy photographing aviation subjects and always try and get to an airshow each year. This year I was set to go to the Airbourne airshow at Eastbourne but bad weather on the day I was going led to the cancellation of all flying. The excellent Dunsfold airshow which I attended last year was out as I wasn't free to go that weekend. This really only left the annual airshow at Shoreham-on-Sea in my area. This became a must see event when... continue reading

Now that the Autumn has arrived here in the UK it marks the end of the airshow season. Don't get me wrong, I am not a plane spotter but I do enjoy visiting and photographing airshows. Probaly my childhood spent growing up under the flight path of London Gatwick Airport sparked my interest. It was always facinating to see the airliners making their approach and, though I hate to admit it, many of them still had propellers back then! These days most UK airshows tend to have a good mix of classic... continue reading
Last summer, an airshow took place in my town. So I decided to try this new photographic sector (for me). Few months ago I bought a Sigma 70-300 apo lens. It is a relative cheap lens which entered in my budget but I'm very satisfied with it and at the airshow it worked fine too. I've four images of this event on DT, all with editorial license because sponsors or other banners are on the airplanes. Not much to say about the technique. No tripod, because the exposures were very fast to stop the movement.... continue reading
Well second time in a row, 100% approval rate, this time no tricks involved. All images submitted was for editorial, and all are exclusive, only thing I did this time was to select the images from the batch very carefully. Still I have many more editorial images to upload. Submitted 13 approved 13.This is an indication that if you work harder and learn from the last rejected images, it is possible for 100 percent results.Anyways the aim of this blog was not to boast my 100 percent results,... continue reading
Well after resigning from my old company, first thing I did was to enroll myself in the Dubai Press Club, still awaiting for the approval from them, which I hope will be approved, Insha Allah. Now I know what is it to be independent, another few days left in my old company. This past week due to my independence I was able to attend three events.Covered Pakistan versus New ZealandT20 cricket match, uploaded one and got approved.Attended Dubai Airshow which was in its 11th edition, first... continue reading
I recently attended the Virginia Air show in Durban South Africa and was able to get what i think is some great pics of planes in the air. Would I be able to submit these photos or would i need permission from the owners of the airplanes. continue reading
During a recent airshow I attended I was able to do some playing with exposure on very fast moving objects ( the planes) against a pretty much bright blue sky.At first my litte brain was telling me to over expose a bit so the plane wouldn't look like a shadow with no color or distinction.I had my little pad and paper and as each plane went by I wrote what I did. I should share at this point that the sun was over my right shoulder so glare was not an issue. To make a long story short , after... continue reading
