I am a Nikon DSLR user. And since I travel quite frequently I want a GPS device to geotag my photos. A GPS is handy not just for inserting the photo coordinates. But especially since dreamstime has a Geo-location link, when you submit the photo it will show it's shooting position on the map or satellite imagery, providing of course that the photo has GPS coordinates in the metadata. And it is extremely useful to know where exactly did you take a certain picture in order to submit an accurate description... continue reading

Sometimes traveling with heavy photographicgear could be an issue, especially by plain these days with all the luggage restrictions. For me the answer is the marvelous world of Strobist photography with wireless triggers, portable light boxes, speedlights ect. This particular beauty make up shoot was done in South Africa. No big studio equipment was hired.Instead I used a single off camera speedlight 580EXII triggered with Pocketwizards ( TT1 and TT5) and a 40x40cm light box mounted.... continue reading

I was on my way to NiagaraFalls last weekend. I thought I might be able to get some useful pictures for stockpurposes. Unfortunately, I wasn't very happy with the photos I took. Maybe its just too "touristy" of a place. But on the way through the back roads of upstate NY, I came across many large wind turbines. I was able to stop and quickly get what I think are some very useful shots.I know we all are partial to our own photos... but I particularly like the fact that I was able to capture... continue reading
"Three thousand years ago yoga started with one meditative pose, Easy Lotus. The word asana originally meant "meditative posture". Then the masters introduced Cobra Pose to keep the spine flexible. In their quest for physical health they developed the eight most important poses to insure the health of the body and the glands. From there it grew. Even today dozens of new poses are created each year by true yogis all over the world. There are many different schools, each with their own variations, but... continue reading
Next week, I will have the chance to spend a couple days in and around Denver.I don't know the city at all, but I hope to change that, and of course I'll have my camera around my neck.I've checked out the available shots of Denver, and have found some beautiful images (see above and below, and there are plenty more.As always, though, I want to go beyond what's already been done.Any Denverites here with ideas on photo opportunities?I'll have plenty of time and a car, so locations... continue reading
Whaha, our cats came in, a few days ago, soaking wet. Since this morning I know why.I got out of bed and looked outside to see a little pool of water next to our neighbors house. Well, I thought, the snow is gone, here's the mud. When I turn around, to make myself a nice cup of good morning coffee, I realize I hear water running. I look outside a second time and notice it is running our of the corners of our neighbors house. A closer look and I see it is not a small pool but a big one ;-)After... continue reading
I recently started an alternative power collection here on Dreamstime. Alternative/renewable power sources are certainly a hot topic in today's society. Thankfully, there are many great photos of alternative power sources. I've tried to pickup some of those that I think are particularly well-executed or unique.Naturally, I've thrown a few of my solar panel shots into the collection, but there are many other great shots from a variety of photographers. Here's a link to my collection: alternative... continue reading
