Ryan Schultz |Fly Goggles |December 7th, 2017Adventuring into the Ecommerce world was a very unique experience for me. I hadn’t given much thought to stock photography or micro-stock photography because as a photography enthusiast I thought it was an area where only the Pros got to hang out and get paid a lot. I’ve since changed my tune. When I received a few inquiries on my Instagram (@thisgirlwithcamera) asking whether I sold my images. My initial reaction was, “What? Really? Someone is willing to pay for my images?” That’s when I decided that it might be worth looking into stock photography... continue reading
After have been an amateur photographer since I was 15, that is more than 30 years, I now have started my own photographer firm. Mostly I am doning portrait work such as weddings, business portraits and family portraits, but also I am selling good quality pictures in such different categories as landscape, macro, seascape, cityscape, wildlife, people and more to come. Now I have uploaded my first pictures to Dreamstime, with the aim of becoming an active supplier of stock photos. My plan is to use... continue reading
I’ve shot micro-stock with both professional and amateur models; there are pros and cons with both.Theoretically the professionals hit the ground running; they know how to pose, aren’t shy and understand the photo shoot dynamic. But there are also disadvantages. You tend to hire pro models on the strength of their online portfolios which are sometimes misleading with older photos. I’ve had my fair share of ‘surprises,’ shall I say.But I’m making the case here for shooting with amateurs,... continue reading

If there's one subject that we're told not to photograph for stock photography, it's flowers. And yet many of us take great joy in practicing our art and technique on a subject that does not require a model or property release. Moreover, flowers are ubiquitous: they are everywhere. How dull would life be without the beauty of flowers? My first ever sale in stock photography (albeit not on DT) was of flowers. In fact most of my stock sales have been of flowers and plants.
