It is often said that the eyes are the windows into the souls. If you need proof of that, just look at two star crossed lovers as they gaze for hours into each others eyes, or to the mother of a small toddler who can tell if he was in the cookie jar just by the look in his eyes, or to the old expression “giving someone the evil eye”.Eyes can truly convey a lot about a person character, and great artists throughout the ages have been known to convey depth and meaning to their work by how they treat... continue reading

Let me be honest with you by telling you that I did not love photography at first. If there is one thing I truly believed, it was that taking photos for money was the creepiest job on the planet. Sorry, but I just couldn’t buy the idea that being a photographer amounted to anything than just picking people to have their photos taken. Worse, my belief was that if you didn’t make a buck for a day, you’d probably sleep hungry or go back to your mama’s apartment to beg for leftovers. My perspective... continue reading
Whether you’re just trying on your own to capture the perfect food photography, after you spent the whole morning coooking it or you’re just that photographer searching for another great project in your portfolio, you have to agree that cooking beautiful food is one thing, but taking beautiful photos is a whole another. Before you start, think of the message you want to send with the set up and the food choice – is there a cultural side or is it an emotional, artistic piece? So we summed up... continue reading

A few years ago, I had no idea what stock photography even was. I remember the feeling, when the first ones were uploaded and accepted. I remember when they were rejected as well.I love the fact that there is always a reason for that 'little pink slip' and I make it a point to work on the problem with my photography (whether it be technical or creative,) so that I can improve. My photography and travel writing have taken me many places. My favorite adventure so far, was Ireland, where I... continue reading
I recently had the pleasure to visit a tiny Norwegian town called Flam. Flam is a very small town situated at the end of a fjord (Aurlandsfjord) and dramatically surrounded by high mountains with steep sides and snow on the top. Aurlandfjord and Naeroyfjord are both part of Sognefjord which is one of the longest fjords in the world. One way to witness the fjords is from high up the mountains. This can be done on a hike but there is also an interesting viewpoint called Stegastein which is a... continue reading
