Sierra is a Golden Eagle that is a rescued animal and is now an Embassador for her species. As an Embassador her care takers will bring her to different Bay Area schools and share about her and her species.Sierra was hit by a car and lost her right wing and now lives at the SF Zoo since she can no longer be released back into the wild.Even though she can not fly I have been told that she has no problem catching squirrels when she is in the flight cage.I was shopping at Whole Foods today and... continue reading

For severalyears now I have enjoyed taking photographs of different animals and I am always amazed when I photograph an animal and it looks like they are smiling. The Gorilla smiling in the picture normally never has this expression on his face but I was at the zoo one day and I called out his name and when he turned around to look over at me he looked like he was smiling.I was quite pleased with the outcome of this picture.I have photographed several animals with what it looks like a smile... continue reading
OK, I think that I am finally starting to gain some momentum in editing the thousands (literally) of images I took on safari.I have been home for a few weeks now, and somehow the very large collection of safari shots became overwhelming.Where to start? How to decide what I like, what to delete, what to submit to Dt?Well, I guess that all journeys begin with, and proceed in, single steps. That in mind, I am going through the images day by day, trying to find my favorites from each.... continue reading
My perfect little models only stand about 12" tall and they are quite the little posers.Meerkats are my perfect little models which I really enjoy photographing them. The first time I ever heard of a Meerkat was from the Disney movie "Lion King" but never really thought of them except during that movie.I only started getting interested into Meerkats after the show "Meerkat Manor" was introduced on Animal Planet.Ever since that show I am always making sure to stop by the Meerkat exhibit at any... continue reading

You eat meal, it's there, you read, it's there, you go to bathroom, it's there.... continue reading
