A few days ago I did a search for some new approved images of mine to see if they were in the system yet. They all came up but one.I contacted the good folks at Dreamstime to inquire and was told it had been content filtered (I have my filter on).The image was a 70 year old photograph of a man and woman (my grandfather and my mom) on their farm holding shotguns and some pheasants they had just hunted. They said all images showing dead animals were content filtered.Maybe this could be disturbing... continue reading

The selling of images is hardly difficult, complicated business with high competition. Our success in it is the result of cooperation and good skilled work of DT and contributors as the team. The collection of DT has nearly 500.000 beautiful worldwide images and more than 40.000 of them are macro. The reasonable question is how to improve sales of the picture in this sea of photos. I would like to use this opportunity to share some ideas or just to remind few helpful approaches to the problem.... continue reading

One of the great things about living in Ecuador, there are lots of things to shoot - like the wild land iguanas that are everywhere. They run from mere babies of about 6 inches, to well over three feet long. Here are just some I've shot. The secret to capturing images of wild animals, at least for me, is not to start shooting right away. I hang around the area for awhile until the animals begin to get used to me being around.Lots and lots of patience. continue reading

After resting in Bethlehem and Sabie over a period of two nights, we finally arrived at our designated destination – the Kruger National Park. As a photographer who is passionate about nature and wildlife,... continue reading

Ok so I have been here since 2009 but not very active I had all but given up here as I found it too hard or just didn't grasp the whole idea of DT.Recently the site popped back into my mind and I thought I would check just to see but wasn't expecting anything to my surprise I had sold five items.Needless to say this has made me think again about DT and give it another shot. Here are the images in question that sold. The angel image has sold twice. continue reading
Pet photography is quite an art in itself. The photographer ideally would love animals and have a raport with them.If you head to The Pet Directory website you will see lots of pets in many different photos with a varied use of animal photography. It is important when photographing animals, birds or reptiles to gain the trust and attention of the animal. In the case of birds it is essential not to startle them. See for example how relaxed this Rainbow Lorikeet is in his photo against the bright... continue reading
