If it’s the 3rd Sunday in September, then it must be Wife Appreciation Day – or as we like to refer to it in my house, just your typical day!Wife Appreciation Day was designed to celebrate wives without children – kind of like a Mother’s Day without the Labor Day.Although nobody is quite certain how it started, the general consensus is it was created by a loving husband to celebrate his childless wife. But it could just as easily have been started by the wife - or by the greeting card... continue reading

Is it green tea - the much lauded tea that is said to be very beneficial to your health and wellness? Is it oolong tea (aka wulong tea) - the fragrant partially fermented tea that intoxicates and energises you with every sip? Or is it black tea - the fully fermented tea that... continue reading

This is my official first year anniversary as I started uploading mid October of last year.I am so pleased as I reached 200 uploads and a total of 60 sales all in one day. Here is my 200th image approved.I know 200 images in one year in not a lot compared to all the wonderful photographers and illustrators on Dreamstime with fantastic huge ports. But I am super happy to be appreciated by all the DT's staff and all the buyers out there. So today I would like to share a piece of pie with... continue reading
I am an active photographer for more than 40 years now, always been an amateur. My parents encouraged me to spend their money on equipment. Later on when I started to spend my own money I continued the trend, never really thinking about cost. Of course I did not spend unlimited amounts but with each business trip to the USA I always left few hundred dollars or more at a photo store. Either a new camera, new lens a better strobe, there was always something cool to buy.I had one of the first usable... continue reading
I have been reading your blogs here almost daily. Not only do I learn from them but also I found them inspiring.I am very new here and do not have a lot of experience in ‘real’ photography.I joined for the main intention of having my work critiqued by a neutral party, vice loved ones who won’t necessarily point out my mistakes and/or don’t have the professional eyes to see them.Oh what a joy it’s been for me to have portion of my submissions accepted AND I also take delight in reading... continue reading
Would't it be nice for contributors if they would't know for what purpose a picture is downloaded? I would really appreciate if I would know in what magazine, book, paper, website or whatever a photo of me is used.Would't it be nice for the photographer if DT creates a possibility for the buyer/designer to let him know why/for what purpose he or she downloaded and used the picture? Of course that would be no obligation only a possibilty.I think contributors would really appreciate that.What'... continue reading
I have had one heck of a lot of fun this year on Dreamstime.I would like to think I have also learned a thing or two. What I do know is that before the year ends I want to thank my models for letting me do what I like to do.I am just a struggling photographer trying to make my way so none of my models are paid.Except the little boy, when one of his sells I give him a commission to put in his piggy bank. The rest of the people are just good kind folks that let... continue reading
