Art nouveau architecture

Art nouveau, secession, jugendstil. The next stop of Bwagner Tours. Art was always part of the mankind, I think, this is, what really makes us different from animals. From early on, humans decorated their caves, their clothes, then called the greatest artists to build and decorate palaces and churches. But this is the era when - thanks to the industry - it moved into the homes of the common man. Companies, that even in our days work, made it happen. Thonet and Tiffany with their products, Moët et... continue reading

A visit to Cuba is on everybody's travel bucket list. The best months to tour Cuba are usually December to May during the dry season when you can walk around freely admiring the beautiful buildings in Old Havana or taking a ride in a horse and buggy to enjoy the grandeur of a past time: weathered buildings, classic cars and a reminder of a rich history.  A visit to Cuba is architecturally enriching and photo-worthy with international influences such as art nouveau, art deco and eclectic... continue reading

800 Years Old Traditional Village, Wologai

Last winter I had an amazing trip to East Nusa Tenggara, Flores Island, Indonesia. The trip was mainly for diving and to see the biggest lizard on earth, Komodo Dragon. Komodo is the biggest living lizard on earth with ancestors that date back more than 100 million years. It looks like a dinosaur and actually holds up a vulnerable conservation status.   It’s not just the mega lizard or the underwater life that is jaw-dropping, the culture is so pretty and the people are remarkably humble.... continue reading

An Artistic Impression of Europe

London, England As I walked through the interior of Buckingham Palace, I could feel the grandeur and sense of royalty. Although photos are not allowed to be taken inside the Palace, I will paint a picture: Columns and ornamentation gilded in gold, walls lined with famous works of art, and extravagant crystal chandeliers are in every room. The ballroom held an exhibit of the current Queen’s fashion for the past 90 years. The attention to detail via beading and diamonds presented a work of art... continue reading
